Florida Airshows

In May 2026 we visited two airshows in Florida. The Fort Lauderdale Airshow and the Vero Beach Airshow.

The Fort Lauderdale Airshow was part of the Air Dot Show tour (the Tour), which visits destinations from Florida to New York in 2026. The 2026 Tour kicked off on April 11-12 in Cocoa Beach, Florida and culminates with its season finale on Oct 31 – Nov 1 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Fort Lauderdale show saw different military demos, starting with the VFA-122 Rhino Demo Team, flying the F-18F Super Hornet. Another demo was flown by the F-22A Raptor, followed by the USAF Thunderbirds. As the demos were flown above the water and the weather was perfect, we were able to capture some nice photos, altough the F-18F and F-22A flew at the beginning of the show which gave some challenging light conditions regarding the sun and backlight.

The Vero Beach Air Show was a 3 day event at the Vero Beach Regional Airport, May 15-17, 2026. The highlight of the show was the highly anticipated return of the world-renowned U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Other performers worth mentioning were the the Haviland Vampire of Vampire Airshows and the MiG-17 demo flown by Tony Remund. The weather at this show was also excellent, so another day to capture some nice shots. The Vero Beach Air Show is a charitable organization dedicated to giving back to the community. 800 Volunteers make this show possible.
